These resources makes it easier to create PrimaryScape diagrams using different software.
If someone wants to make improvements or share support for other software then I’ll post them here with credit.
MS Visio Stencil and Template
Download the Visio stencil and template files to your Visio My Shapes directory. You may have to restart Visio.
The stencil should show up immediately in My Shapes as per Figure 1.
To make the template available one must edit the file locations via File | Options | Advanced | File Locations … as is shown in Figure 2
Now when creating a new Visio diagram you will see PrimaryScape US as an option, as per Figure 3.
This template and stencil shapes use US units of measure instead of metric units of measure. I grew up using metric units and I got used to using US units. One little known and appreciated benefit of inches is that it divides easily into halves. I have just found it easier to work with these units when creating diagrams. Metric on the other hand divides into 10ths, and while it makes math easier it makes drawing diagrams (in my experience) more cumbersome.
If someone would prefer metric based template and stencil, just let me know. Or even better, make the changes yourself and send them to me and I’ll post them here with credit. Figure 4 shows the US on the left and Metric on the right.
